Worthy Mentions
JVC HP-DX1000/DX2000
Part of my personal collection is the JVC HP-DX1000. It’s a beautiful headphone that pushes some of the most bass impact of any headphone out there stock. It sounds gorgeous with its unique wood-mounted drivers, is very comfortable, causes zero listening fatigue, and isolates well. It doesn’t make the top 10 because EQ doesn’t quite push the slam into insane territory, but it can shake your ears despite having plush leather earpads. If you’re a basshead-audiophile, these are right up there with the Fostex TH600/TH900 in sonic bliss.
Driver size: 50mm Neodymium Magnet (Wood Mounted)
- Impedance: 64 Ohm
- Amp Headroom: Good +15dB @ 45Hz
- EQ: Needs (raise bass only)
- Genre: Any
- Weakness: Expensive
Razer Kraken
Driver size: 40mm Neodymium Magnet
- Impedance: 32 Ohm
- Amp Headroom: ?
- EQ: Needs (raise bass only)
- Genre: Hip-Hop/EDM/Gaming
- Weakness: Mids like ass?

If you can add cb3723 to the credit on top that’d be awesome. If not for him the list wouldn’t be as legit as it is. Love the site 🙂
Have you tried out the skullcandy crushers? would like to see where they place on the list
The Crushers are basically a toy. The sound is mediocre but the shake is pretty fun.
Have you ever tried the Beyerdynamic DT 770s? I’m curious what you think of them in regards to the others on this list. They have pretty deep bass extension and benefit a lot from EQing up the low end while EQing out a bit of the harshness of the highs.
Sony MDR Xb800?
The Sony XB800s are a fun headphone, but don’t belong on a list of best basshead cans. The XB1000, to some extent Z7, and perhaps the stupidly-overpriced top tier Sony cans do, though.
Hello!
I am looking for headphones with lot of bass but must be able to work with a min 100 Ohm (my amp requires that). Any suggestions as none of the support anywhere close to 100ohm.
Thanks!

What about AKG K518 or K450? 😉
